We are called to be a Christ-centered multi-cultural community in the inner city, sharing the love, healing, peace, and justice of Christ.

At Harrisburg First Church of the Brethren, we are committed to serve our multi-ethnic, multi-cultural community here in South Allison Hill. Nestled in the inner city, we are devoted to community service as an expression of our service to God. Our building at 219 Hummel Street serves as the home of First Church of the Brethren, Brethren Community Ministries (bcmPEACE), and Brethren Housing Association (BHA).

“If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.”

Isaiah 58:10

Dearest Church Family, I’ve been trying to put off this decision in hopes that the weather reports will change, but the more I wait, the worse things seem to be. So we are making the difficult decision to cancel our Christmas Eve Outdoor Event, due to the impending rains that are headed our way. Instead, I want to invite you to a Harrisburg First Church Christmas Eve Zoom Call which will begin at 4pm. This will be a chance to see each other’s faces, hear the Christmas Story read, and sing Silent Night together. Unfortunately any refreshments and campfires will need to be your own. We do ask that you have a candle handy so we can light our respective candles and sing Silent Night together. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow evening.
